It is an honor to address the Post 127 family for the first time as your newly elected and installed Post Commander. I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I am ready to get to work serving our members, supporting our programs, and building upon the strong foundation established by those who came before me.

I want to thank our outgoing Commander, officers, and leaders for their service and dedication to Post 127. Leadership may change, but our mission remains the same: supporting veterans, strengthening our community, honoring those who served, and providing a place where fellowship and camaraderie can thrive.

I would also like to personally thank my wife, Denise, for her encouragement, patience, and continued support. Taking on a leadership role like this is not something anyone does alone, and I am grateful to have her beside me as we begin this new chapter.

The American Legion, Department of Georgia’s theme for the 2026–2027 year is BPOTS—“Be a Part of the Solution.” This is a message I have emphasized in our recent meetings because it speaks directly to what makes a Post successful. It is easy to identify a problem or point out what could be better. The real difference is made by those who step forward, offer ideas, lend a hand, and help find a solution.

Post 127 is successful because of the people who give their time, talents, and energy to its mission. Whether you serve with the Honor Guard, Legion Riders, Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion; volunteer at an event; support Canteen 127; attend our meetings; or simply step forward when help is needed, your involvement matters.

As we begin this new Legion year together, I look forward to listening to our members, working alongside our officers, and finding new ways to strengthen our Post. My door will be open, and I encourage every member to stay involved, share ideas, attend meetings, and ask themselves how they can Be a Part of the Solution.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve as your Commander. I am excited about what we can accomplish together, and I am ready to get to work.
